Armenian jewelry production displayed at Almaty International Jewellery Fair
Four jewelry companies and two independent entrepreneurs, in cooperation with the Development Foundation of Armenia (DFA), are participating in the 28th ARU Almaty International Jewellery Fair on April 6-9 in Kazakhstan. According to DFA released report, the Armenian representatives display their high-quality craftsmanship, including gold and silver jewellery, souvenirs and watches, set with precious and semi-precious stones.
“The Armenian jewellery pieces – that share similarities with products of European style – are new to the Kazakh market. Thanks to this exhibition, Armenian jewellers are strengthening their position in the Kazakh market by expanding the demand for modern gold jewelry. One of the important results of the exhibition is the opening of a permanently-operating jewellery store by the De Laur Company in Almaty. A yearly increase has been recorded in exports of Armenian jewelry to Kazakhstan, which has become easier recently due to the Eurasian Economic Union membership”, said the CEO of the Development Foundation of Armenia Garen Mikirditsian.
The Hagopian Jewels, Yerevan Jewellery Plant-1 “Gnomon,” JCA Jewellery and Mitario Gold companies as well as the individual entrepreneurs Artak Bojikyan and Anahit Margaryan, are taking part in ARU Almaty 28.
ARU Almaty 28 is also attended by companies from Russia, Ukraine, Italy, Belgium, Turkey, India, the Czech Republic, Kyrgyzstan and the UAE. The previous exhibition was attended by around one-hundred companies from eight countries, and the number of visitors exceeded thirteen-thousand. Seven Armenian participants attended the event, where two contracts were signed, that led to an export of jewelry and natural stones worth around twenty-nine million AMD. Business contacts were established between twenty enterprises and individual entrepreneurs. Potential cooperation was established with representatives of retail chains and distributors.
The ARU Almaty Fair is held twice a year, in spring and autumn, in two major cities of Kazakhstan, Almaty and Astana. It is carried out in cooperation with Kazakhstan’s government and the National Association of Jewelers, and is a potential gateway for Armenian manufacturers to enter the Asian market.
