Gayane Khachaturian's solo exhibition to open at Alexander Chavchavadze Museum, Georgia
On April 9, the solo exhibition of Georgian-Armenian painter Gayane Khachaturian is set to open at Aleksandre Chavchavadze House Museum in Tsinandali, Georgia on April 9. The museum administration told Panorama.am that the exhibition will feature paintings from the personal collection that the painter created in different periods. The exhibition is dedicated to Gayane Khachaturian’s anniversary; she would turn 75 years old on April 9.
Gayane Khachaturian's works are displayed in Tsinandali’s gallery for the first time. The fans of the artist will be able to visit the exhibition until the end of this month.
Gayane Khachaturian was born into an Armenian family in Tbilisi, Georgia. After leaving school, Gayane underwent preparatory courses at Tbilisi State Academy of Fine Arts, however she refused to continue her studies at higher education institution and continued her creative development by herself.
In the post-modernism era, Gayane Khachaturian created memorable, expressive paintings and managed to hold a worthy place among the painters of the second half of the past century. Her paintings became an integral part of Armenian and Georgian cultures.
Gayane Khachaturian was the muse of numerous writers, directors and artists. The inner articism hidden in everyday life completely manifested itself in the painter’s art. There are many essays, publications, as well as documentaries dedicated to the Armenian painter.
