Arsen Julfalakyan – winner of Kristjan Palusalu Memorial Tournament
Olympic silver medalist, World and European former champion Arsen Julfalakyan (75 kg) participated at Kristjan Palusalu Memorial Wrestling Tournament honoring Estonia’s most famous athlete Kristjan Palusalu – who won heavyweight gold medals at the 1936 Olympic Games in both Greco-Roman and Freestyle wrestling.
As the National Olympic Committee of Armenia (ANOC) reports, the Armenian athlete overcame 3 fights with the same 8-0 score and triumphed at the tournament which is a part of the United World Wrestling (UWW) calendar.
The Armenian GR wrestling National Team head coach Levon Julfalakyan informed the tournament was held according to the new wrestling rules to enter in force from January 2018.
According to the release, Julfalakyan is back to Yerevan to join the Armenian team which is set to leave for a training camp in Minsk.
