Investigative Committee initiated 15 criminal cases on election breaches during Armenian parliamentary elections
15 criminal cases were initiated on election breaches during Armenian parliamentary elections held as of April 11 to be investigated by the RA Investigative Committee envisaged by RA Criminal Procedure Code.
As the Investigative Committee said in a released statement, 11 criminal cases of 15 refer to attempt to vote more than once or instead of another person (Article 34-153 of RA Criminal Code), 4 – to breaching confidentiality of ballot (Article 154 of RA Criminal Code).
4 of the mentioned 15 criminal cases on 4 defendants were sent to court, proceeding of 1 criminal case was terminated based on the absence of crime.
Preliminary investigation of 10 criminal cases is ongoing, 1 of them in Yerevan, 9 – in regions (4 – according to the Article 154 of RA Criminal Code, 6 – the Article 34-153 of RA Criminal Code), the source added.
