Armenian-Georgian relations have been on a significant rise in recent years, FM Nalbandian says
Armenia and Georgia reiterate there no problems between the two countries there are issues that are being solved through joint efforts, Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian stated at a joint press conference with his Georgian counterpart Mikheil Janelidze held on Tuesday in Yerevan.
To note, Janelidze is on official visit to Armenia at the invitation of FM Edward Nalbandian
Recapping the results of the negotiations, Armenian FM stressed the parties touched upon the implementation process of the arrangements reached between the heads of the two countries.
“Armenian-Georgian relations have been on a significant rise in recent years are and are moving forward in a spirit of mutually beneficial cooperation,” stressed Nalbandian.
In the minister’s words, the economic cooperation has grown with the fruitful activity of the intergovernmental commissions. Nalbandian informed numerous issues related to the expansion of cooperation in the fields of trade and economy, energy, development of transport infrastructure, tourism were discussed. “We have touched upon the issue of improving further the existing comprehensive legal basis between our two states: today it includes more than 80 documents,” added the minister.
During the talks, the parties reflected upon the concerns of the Georgian-Armenians and the steps being undertaken towards their resolution.
“I have briefed my Georgian counterpart on the efforts exerted by Armenia and the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs to create conducive conditions for the advancement of settlement process of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. In this regard, we consider important Georgia's continuous support to the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs efforts,” Nalbandian said.
