Artsakh eyes 9.1% GDP growth in 2016
Karen Nersisyan, Director of the National Statistical Service of Artsakh Republic (Nagorno-Karabakh Republic/NKR), at today’s press conference presented the annual socio-economic indicators for 2016.
According to the released data, the gross domestic product (GDP) of the NKR amounted to 229.7 billion AMD in 2016 to compare with 209.3 billion AMD registered in 2015, thus indicating 109.2% growth rate.
In 2016 GDP per capita totalled to 1577.3 thousand AMD (3282.7 USD) to compare with 1443.8 thousand AMD (3021.0 USD) in 2015.
The economic activity index (EAI) in December 2016 made up 119.6% to compare with December 2015. In November 2016, the EAI made up 123.2% and the index for January-December 2016 is 107.2% comparing with the same period of 2015.
