State Revenue Committee thwarts smuggling of tomatoes marked “Karabax”
Armenia’s State Revenue Committee (SRC) prevented 272 attempts to smuggle agricultural goods into Armenia as of April 12. According to the release by the Committee, the seized 18 tons of goods mainly included tomatoes. Offenders attempted to move the goods in hiding places specially made in cars to avoid customs clearance. All attempts were thwarted.
This time SRC seized 50 kilograms of tomatoes and cucumbers being moved in boxes marked “KARABAX”. The smuggler was trying to transport the goods in boxes covered with apples.
