
Armenia's textile companies seeking to expand business
Armenia’s light industry has huge potential for development and is important in terms of creating job places, Armenian Minister of Economic Development and Investment Suren Karayan addressed the matter at a meeting with the representatives of the sector. Entities in attendance of the meeting have presented programs of development and expansion.
As the ministry reports in a released press statement, Minister Karayan has suggested the producers to submit their proposals to weight up the formats of possible state assistance and providing respective solutions.
Textile manufacturers have also discussed the challenges ahead of the sector - the education and training of the specialists, issues related to the import of the raw material and other issues.
An agreement was reached to hold regular working consultations to address options for solving the existing problems and barriers.
