Armenia’s Yuri Khachaturov named CSTO Secretary General
Yuri Khachaturov, Secretary of Armenia's National Security Council has been appointed Secretary General of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO). Acting Secretary General of the organization Valery Semerikov announced about this according to a report of RIA Novosti Russian news agency.
Khachaturov will assume the post from May 2, 2017.
In the words of Semerikov, the decision on appointing Khachaturov CSTO Secretary General was taken unanimously. The heads of the CSTO member states made a decision to award former CSTO Secretary General Nikolay Bordyuzha with First Degree of Excellence of the CSTO Collective Security Council.
During the CSTO informal summit held at Bishkek, issues related to military-political and military-strategic situation in the CSTO responsibility area were also touched upon.
