Ex-Soviet Leader Gorbachev points to elements of new Cold War – Bild
The current global situation contains elements of a new Cold War, former leader of the Soviet Union Mikhail Gorbachev said in an interview with the German Bild newspaper, TASS reports.
In his words, the relations between the super powers have been deteriorating, which according to the former president, creates an impression that the world is getting ready for a new war. In addition to this, Gorbachev also pointed out the rhetoric used by politicians and senior military commanders.
As Lenta.ru Russian news agency notes, at the end of March, Russian president's spokesman Dmitry Peskov announced that the current relations between Washington and Moscow are more strained then during the Cold War.
