World-famous opera stars to perform in Yerevan, Armenia
The First International Yerevan Opera Fest is set to be held in Yerevan on 27-30 April. As the Armenian National Academic Theatre of Opera and Ballet named after Alexander Spendiaryan informed Panormama.am, on the days of the opera fest – 27, 28 and 30 April – world-famous opera stars will hold concerts on the stage of the Opera Theatre, performing the best opera works.
On April 27, Hasmik Grigoryan (soprano), Stephen Costello (tenor), Rodion Pogossov (baritone) will perform together with the Opera Theatre’s symphonic orchestra. The conductor is Constantine Orbelian, Artistic Director of the theatre, Honored Artist of Russia.
During April 28 concert, opera stars Barbara Frittoli (soprano) and George Gagnidze (baritone) will perform jointly with the State Youth Orchestra of Armenia, conducted by Constantine Orbelian.
April 30 concert program features G. Verdi’s “La Traviata” opera. Hasmik Torosyan (soprano) will perform as Violetta, with Stephen Costello (tenor) singing Alfredo. The germont is Arnold Kocharyan, Honored Artist of the RA, conductor – Kriss Russman (UK).
