Offenders to be brought to responsibility for illegal waste dumping, Armenian Police warns
The Government of Armenia has tasked the Armenian Police to ensure the prevention of the cases of dumping garbage in undesignated places through the efforts of the external forces.
The Armenian Police warns that it will adopt a principled, consistent and strict approach towards the settlement of the issue.
“Meantime, we call on our fellow citizens to join the “Clean Armenia” project, supporting the law enforcement officers to exclude the cases of illegally dumping the waste across the roadsides, in settlements, as well as in recreation and entertainment zones.
We propose the local governments, entrepreneurs, the heads of shopping and food centres and recreation zones to carry out cleaning works of the areas under their responsibility and to prevent the cases of waste dumping using all the available means and in the shortest period possible.
The Police is hopeful that it will receive the full support of the relevant agencies and the legally aware citizens in implementing the “Clean Armenia” project, with the offenders being brought to responsibility,” the police statement reads.
