Golden Apricot to present Armenian films at Ankara Film Festival
In April 2017, the Golden Apricot Yerevan International Film Festival is set to present a comprehensive program of short and animated Armenian films in the framework of Ankara International Film Festival, the Press Service of the Golden Apricot told Panorama.am.
“Distributing and publicizing the Armenian cinema is one of the key priorities of the Golden Apricot Film Festival. For 14 years, programs on contemporary Armenian cinema, as well as conferences dedicated to the history of the Armenian cinema have been held at more than 20 countries at the initiative of the Golden Apricot.
Screenings of the films dedicated to the 102nd anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, as well as lectures over the topic of the genocide were held at 17 cities of 14 countries, including at Istanbul.
This year, the Ankara International Film Festival is scheduled on 21-30 April, with the festival program featuring 11 Armenian films. The Armenian films will be screened in Ankara on 28 and 29 April.
The Armenian delegation of the film program includes director Naira Muradyan, Diana Kardumyan and Raffi Movsisyan, film critic, Golden Apricot Film Festival Program Coordinator.
The Armenian festival program features the best works of the contemporary Armenian cinema with common topics of humanism, tolerance and freedom,” reads the statement released by the film festival.
