Garo Paylan: Facing the Genocide can contribute to ensuring solidarity among the Turkish society
Garo Paylan, Armenian PM of pro-Kurdish People’s Democratic Party (HDP) of Turkey, has issued a message on the 102nd anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, Panorama.am reports citing
“Today, April 24, marks the Armenian Genocide Remembrance Day. 102 years on since the Mets Eghern, however until now there has not been confrontation with the gravest crime – the Armenian Genocide – committed on these lands,” Ermenihaber quotes Paylan as saying.
The Armenian PM expressed conviction that facing the Genocide committed in the past can contribute to ensuring solidarity among the Turkish society. He underscored that any crime that goes unpunished can cause the recurrence of that crime.
“Let’s join together to stop this history of denialism and to ensure the disclosure of the truth. May the souls of all the victims rest in peace,” Garo Paylan summed up.
