At the session of the Yerevan Council of Elders convened on April 26, the council discussed and approved the draft decision on naming Yerevan Basic School No. 147 after Artsakh Hero Robert Abajyan with the initiative of Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan.
As the Public Relations Department of Yerevan Municipality told Panorama.am, it was noted that the Armenian soldier heroically fallen during the Four-Day April War attended the school from 2003 to 2011.
Upon the decree signed by Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) Republic President Bako Sahakyan, Robert Abajyan was posthumously awarded with the highest title of Hero of Artsakh and the Golden Eagle Order on 8 May 2016 for the exceptional courage and bravery shown while defending the NKR state border.
