Princess Dina Mired of Jordan visits children with cancer at Muratsan hospital in Yerevan
Princess Dina Mired of Jordan who is also the president of the world’s largest cancer-fighting body - the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC), is visiting Armenia at the invitation of the Yerevan State Medical University (YSMU).
As the medical university reported in a release, Dina Mired visited today Muratsan Hospital Complex, where she got familiarized with equipment of the Chemotherapy clinic and other departments. The Princess conversed with the medical staff and patients.
Princess Dina Mired talked to patients about being a mother to a cancer survivor who is today studying at a university. The Princess reflected on her experience, recalling the way she passed through struggling against the disease and overcoming it due to tireless work.
“As a mother of a cancer survivor, I had all the problems that others,” Dina Mired said.
Rector at YSMU Armen Muradyan informed that the university has joint the UICC headed by the Princess. He informed that the organization is the largest global organization solely dedicated to reducing the global cancer burden, promoting greater equity, and integrating cancer control into the world health and development agenda. It is comprised of over 1000 organizations from 162 countries, making it the largest cancer-fighting organization in the world.
During the visit, Princess Dina Mired encouraged parents of the children diagnosed with cancer, recalling her own experience, presented the emotional aspect of the cancer treatment as well as spoke of the modern methods of the cancer treatment available in Armenia.
