Reykjavik Open: Sergei Movsesian takes 3rd place
Reykjavik Open 2017 international chess tournament is over in Iceland. In the final round, Armenian GM Sergei Movsesian won his game against Mustafa Yilmaz from Turkey and Tatev Abrahamyan outplayed Awonder Liang from U.S.
As the Chess Federation of Armenia told Panorama.am, Anish Giri from the Netherlands became the winner of this tournament with 8.5 points, followed by another Dutch chess player Jorden van Foreest, who scored 8 points. Armenia’s Sergei Movsesian came the third with 8 points.
The tournament also features special awards for the female chess players with the best results. Harika Dronavalli and Tatev Abrahamyan scored 7 out of 10 points apiece. However, after the assessment of the additional accessories Dronavalli took the first place, with Tatev Abrahamyan coming the second.
