After Islamic Solidarity Games, Azerbaijani authorities will demolish Baku historic mosque – Iranian media
After the completion of the Islamic Solidarity Games, the Azerbaijani authorities, that run an anti-Islamic policy, will demolish the historic mosque in Baku, Panorama.am reports citing Ghafghaz.ir Iranian news agency.
As the source informs, upon the order of Baku Municipality, the mosque of Hajj Abd al-Rahim located on Narimanov Street in Baku, Azerbaijan’s capital, was demolished on 11 April under the pretext of carrying out improvement works. The Azerbaijani leadership intended to next demolish Haji Javad mosque, however the process was suspended due to the pressures.
Citing its reliable Azerbaijani sources, Ghafghaz.ir notes that after the completion of the Islamic Solidarity Games underway in Baku, the municipal authorities of the city will resume the demolition works of the mosque.
To note, speaking about the issue of holding the Islamic Solidarity Games in Baku, Iranian expert on Azerbaijan Hamed Soltanpur in particular noted: “Unfair judgements were made in Azerbaijan against a number of clerics, as well as participants of the Nardaran events. It is an overt violation of human rights.”
Soltanpur went on adding: “Many in Azerbaijan are not aware of the treachery committed by Ilham Aliyev’s regime against the religion and culture. Aliyev’s authority has committed a great treachery against the Azerbaijani society.”
