The development of trade and economic relations should be one of the key priorities of Armenian-Turkish relations – French Ambassador to Armenia
First-ever Armenia-Turkey Investor Day was held on Tuesday in Yerevan, Armenia. The event is aimed at promoting the idea of creation of a sustainable angel-investing network in Armenia and Turkey, introducing various formats of investor networks, as well as best international practices.
The meeting was organized by The Public Journalism Club (PJC) and the Economic Policy Research Foundation of Turkey (TEPAV), in cooperation with Angel Labs, the world’s first investor accelerator based in Silicon Valley.
The event was attended by Jean-François Charpentier, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the French Republic to Armenia. In his speech he noted that the Armenia-Turkey Investor Day is a unique initiative, which aims at supporting the creation of entrepreneurial ecosystems, connecting the Armenian and Turkish investors and entrepreneurs to establish trade and economic relations.
“The development of trade and economic relations between the two countries should be one of the key priorities of Armenian-Turkish normalization process,” the ambassador noted.
Seda Muradyan, PJC Director said that they are trying to support the strengthening of peace and stability in the (Caucasus) region, as well as the establishment of more democratic relations in both countries.
Tugce Ergul, Director of Angel Labs, said in his turn that they intend to establish a dialogue between the Armenian and Turkish investors to create the first joint angel investment network.
