Expertise of Azerbaijani apples completed, Armenia’s food safety service reports
Armenia’s State Service for Food Safety (SSFS) has conducted an expertise of the samples of the Azerbaijani apples that appeared in the Armenian market, Panorama.am reports.
As the SSFS reports, the expertise has not registered any deviations regarding the indicators under study.
To note, the SSFS of Armenia’s Ministry of Agriculture has banned the sale of over 500 kg Azerbaijani apples detected in a number of sale points in Yerevan and Armenia’s regions in the framework of its inspecting tours in the past week in cooperation with other state agencies and due to the active reactions of the customers.
Pursuant to Part 1 (Point 2) of Article 7 of the RA law on “Food Safety” the revealed apples have been considered dangerous due to the lack of any safety certificate.
Taking into account the mentioned fact, based on Part 2 (Point 1) of Article 19 of the law on “State Control of Food Safety”, the sale of the Azerbaijani apples was banned and the product was destroyed.
