Woman gave birth to quintuplets in Yerevan, doctors struggling for their lives
23-year-old Lusine Poghosyan from Arshaluys village of Armenia’s Armavir region, gave birth to five children today at 4 a.m. at Yerevan Erebuni Medical Center
Born at 28 weeks, the quintuplet, four girls and a boy, range in weight from 600 to 880 grams.
RA Ministry of Healthcare reports that the condition of the premature babies is critical as medical emergency team (MET) from Muratsan Medical Hospital along with additional rapid response teams from Erebuni Hospital are taking necessary steps to save the babies lives.
According to the source, two of the babied have been transferred to Muratsan hospital and kept in artificial wombs. The third is at of Maternal and Child Health Protection Research Center and as of 1 p.m. breathes on her own.
The ministry reported the health condition of the newborns is under the control of the leading specialists of the republic and the minister of healthcare himself.
