Armenian ministry issues tender for solar power project
An international tender has been issued for the construction of first-ever solar power plant in Armenia in order to attract investors.
As Armenia’s Ministry of Energy Infrastructure and Natural Resources told Panorama.am, all the companies that meet the pre-qualification requirements, are invited to apply. The deadlines for submission of applications is set 16 June 2017.
One of the primary conditions of the tender is the tariff, with preference to be given to the company that will propose lower and competitive tariff.
The ministry expects that the circle of the applicants will be large, given the interest shown by numerous companies towards the initiative of constructing utility-scale solar power plant in Armenia at the investment forum held at the beginning of this year.
To note, based on the investment project approved by the Armenian Government, 110MW solar power plants are to be constructed in six locations in Armenia with the first 55MW plant to be constructed in Masrik community of Gegharkunik Province.
