18 Armenian players to take part in the European Individual Chess Championship 2017
18 chess players from Armenia will participate in the European Individual Chess Championship 2017 to be held on 29 May - 11 June in Minsk, Belarus.
Chess Federation of Armenia reported, the European Individual Chess Championship 2017 will be played in 11-round Swiss system, in line with the FIDE and ECU rules. The championship is a qualification event for the next World Cup. According to FIDE regulations and the decision of the ECU Board, 23 players will qualify.
According to the source, GMs Sergey Movsesyan, Gabriel Sargsyan, Hrant Melkumyan, Hovhannes Gabuzyan and others are among the participants from Armenia.
