700 runners set to participate at Yerevan marathon
Marathon under the motto “For victory and Peace” will be held in Yerevan as part of commemorative events on the occasion the Shushi liberation and the Victory Day, RA Ministry of Sport and Youth Affairs reported.
The race will start at 10.00 a.m. on May 7 in the area adjacent to the tomb of the "Unknown Soldier" in the Victory Park with runners expected to cover a distance of 4 km till the Republican Square. Around 700 runners are expected to join the marathon.
“We wish to establish a new tradition for the May holidays and mark them not only through cultural but also sport events, such as a mass race,” head of the mass sport department at the ministry Levon Vardanyan told Panorama.am.
