Azerbaijani forces fire more shots at overnight ceasefire violations in recent days, defense ministry spox says
“The Azerbaijani forces have fired more shots at night hours during the recent four-five days, including from mortars,” Artsrun Hovhannisyan, Spokesman of Armenian Ministry of Defense, told the reporters at the Victory Part.
The spokesman noted that the Azerbaijani force also fired shots at the direction of Armenia’s Tavush Province during the last night. In the words of Mr. Hovhannisyan, the situation at the frontline is generally calm during the daytime.
“Currently the situation is calm as well. In general, they [the Azerbaijani forces] stop the activeness after we open a response fire,” he added.
Asked about the causes of the Azerbaijani activeness, A. Hovhannisyan said that it might be linked with the holidays, however he found it hard to point out a specific reason.
Asked to comment on the accident of drowning of three Armenian soldiers in a reservoir, the spokesman noted: “It is not possible to point out the causes so early. The military and criminal investigation will reveal the details, afterwards the law enforcement officers will informs about them.”
