Wine production volumes increase in Armenia January-March 2017
According to the data released by Armenia’s National Statistical Service (NSS), in January-March of 2017, 1967.7 thousand liters of wine was produced in Armenia, which indicates 36.5% increase to compare with the same period of the previous year. To note, in January-March of 2016, 441.3 thousand liters of wine was produced in the republic.
As the data shows, the production volumes of champagne-wines rose by 14.7%, amounting to 97.7 thousand liters.
As the NSS reports, in January-March of the current year, 422.5 thousand liters of whiskey was produced in Armenia, rising by 7.2% compared to the same period of 2016.
The beer production volumes also increased in the mentioned period. In January-March 2 710.5 thousand liters of beer was produced in the republic, thus increasing by 5.5%.
The NSS data shows that vodka and vodka liqueur totaling to 1088.8 thousand liters was produced in Armenia in the first three months of 2017, decreasing by 47% to compare with the same period of the previous year (2053.3 liters of vodka was produced in January-March 2016).
