Wounded Armenian reporter showed great courage, Davit Babayan says
Cameramen of Shant TV Channel Davit Atoyan was shot in the legs, Davit Babayan, press secretary to Artsakh President, told Panorama.am
“I visited him in the hospital. He is in good mood. He showed great courage. After being injured, he didn’t even allow the guys attempting to recover him from the scene, to approach as he was afraid for their lives. Azeri snipers kept the area under constant fire. Even bleeding for a while, the reporter didn’t give a consent to be relieved,” Babayan told.
To remind, press secretary at Artsakh (Nagorno Karabakh) Defense Army earlier informed that Davit Atoyan was wounded by Azerbaijani fire on Wednesday at around 18:00 in the northern directions of the Line of Contact between Nagorno Karabakh and Azerbaijan.
Shant TV Channel said its crew was traveling to Artsakh for filming the program “In the posts” when their car was shelled by large caliber weapons.
Panorama.am earlier reported Davit Atoyan underwent surgery in Stepanakert. His condition was assessed as stable.
