Number of foreign tourist to Artsakh grows 10%
The number of foreign tourists visiting Artsakh grew 10 per cent in the first three months of 2017 as compared with the same period last year. The Tourism Department at the Artsakh (Nagorno Karabakh) Republic Ministry of Economy reports, visitors mainly from Russia, the U.S., Iran and European countries arrived in Artsakh over the mentioned period.
Among the most visited sites of the country are Tigranakert Historical Cultural Reserve, Gandzasar Monastery, the Hunot Canyon State Natural-Historical Reserve, Tsakhkashat Ethnographic District with the Nikol Duman House Museum. Tourists are visiting Artsakh mainly on get-to know trips, the source added.
Deputy Economy Minister S. Shahverdyan noted that the released data are promising given the fact that they cover the foreign nationals, who have granted entry visas at the country’s foreign ministry upon arrival.
