Prime Minister voted, expressed desire to see modern Yerevan with flexible administration system
Armenia’s Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan voted on Sunday in Yerevan Council Elections at the 4/53 polling station. He was accompanied by his wife.
“I wish to see Yerevan as a modern city with flexible administration system aimed at meeting the requirement of the city residents,” Karapetyan said at a briefing with reporters, after casting his ballot.
To remind, municipal elections started today with three political forces running to vie for 65 seats in the Council of Elders of the capital city that will elect a new city mayor. Two political parties a one bloc need to win at least 6 percent of the vote in order to be represented in the council. The party list of the ruling Republican Party is headed by the acting Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan.
