No Armenian citizens in cholera-stricken Yemen, Armenian MFA spox says
There are no Armenian citizens in Yemen, stricken by cholera outbreak, Armenian Foreign Ministry spokesman Tigran Balayan said on Twitter.
“According to the information clarified by the Embassy of Armenia to Egypt, there are no Armenian citizens in Yemen,” Tigran Balayan wrote.
To note, a state of emergency has been declared in Sanaa, Yemen’s capital, amid the cholera outbreak. Earlier, the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) said that 15 people had died of cholera at the end of April. Representative of the organization Dominik Stillhart noted that more than 8,500 suspected cases of the waterborne disease were reported in 14 governorates across Yemen.
Yemen’s Health Ministry called on the international humanitarian organizations to assist the country in its fights against the cholera outbreak.
