Yerevan State Puppet Theatre wins award at Prague international festival
On May 14, at the closing ceremony of Pidifest International Theatre Festival held in Prague, Czech Republic, “Thumbelina” shadow performance by Yerevan State Puppet Theatre named after Hovhannes Tumanyan won the general award for the “Best Performance by Audience Vote” in the jury’s four nominations, Panorma.am reports referring to the theatre’s Facebook post.
“Thumbelina” shadow performance is based on Hans Christian Andersen's classic fairy tale, which is about a girl who is born from a flower, and experiencing numerous trials and adventures, eventually achieves her dream.
The director of the performance is Samson Movsesyan, stage design – by Karine Babayan and animation – by Mushegh Babayan.
