Russian court guarantees ‘full and unconditional’ implementation of Valery Permyakov’s verdict
Armenia’s Ministry of Justice on Wednesday received the decision of the Court of the Russian Federation on recognizing the verdict over massacre of Gyumri’s family of Avetisyans issued by General Jurisdiction Court of First Instance of Armenia’s Shirak Province on 23 August 2016 and implementing that verdict in the Russian territory, the Justice Ministry told Panorama.am.
“The decision of the Russian Court guarantees the full and unconditional implementation of the verdict of the life sentence against the Russian citizen Valery Permyakov as prescribed by the international agreements between the Republic of Armenia and the Russian Federation,” the statement released by the ministry reads.
To note, General Jurisdiction Court of First Instance of Armenia’s Shirak Province on August 23 2016 made a verdict against Russian citizen Valery Permyakov, who was convicted for committing crimes under Part 2 (Points 1, 5 and 8) of Article 104, Part 2 (Points 3 and 4) of Article 175 and Part 1 of Article 34-329 of the RA Criminal Code and was sentenced to life in prison.
Earlier, the Russian military court in Gyumri sentenced Permyakov to 10 years in prison on charges of desertion from the Russian military base deployed in Gyumri and illegal weapons possession.
