The recent statement issued by the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs is quite interesting and unique. In fact, this marks a new beginning regarding the process of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict settlement; a platform of maintaining peace and stability. David Babayan, Spokesman of the Nagorno-Karabakh (Artsakh) Republic President, noted the aforesaid in an interview with Panorama.am, reflecting on the statement of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs, which reads that on 15 May, Azerbaijani armed forces fired a missile across the Line of Contact, striking military equipment.

“Such a statement should have been made earlier. Meantime, we can understand the Co-Chairs, who does not want to further complicate the situation given Azerbaijan’s hysteria. On the other hand, they can no longer tolerate Azerbaijan’s obscene behavior, which is demonstrated by that country not only along the Line of Contact, but also towards different countries. It is natural that Azerbaijan has sickened the Co-Chairing countries,” our interlocutor noted.

Mr. Babayan considered predictable the statement released by the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry, which notes that “the Azerbaijani Armed Forces are located on the sovereign territory of Azerbaijan and can do whatever they want”.

In the words of Artsakh President Spokesman, the key priority of the Aliyev clan is holding the power and looting the riches of its own country. Therefore, if the same authorities did not somehow respond to the OSCE Mink Group statement, it would be discredited in the eyes of its own society.
