Non-standard statement of the OSCE MG Co-Chairs clearly points out the side bearing responsibility – Armenian FM
Armenia’s Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian, who is on a working visit in Cyprus, has briefed Secretary General of the Council of Europe Thorbjørn Jagland on the results of April 2 Parliamentary elections in Armenia.
As the Press Service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs told Panorama.am, during the meeting, the interlocutors touched upon the current developments in the PACE and the necessity of undertaking practical steps aimed at restoring the trust towards the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe.
Mr. Nalbandian presented Thorbjørn Jagland the efforts taken by Armenia and the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairing countries aimed at creating conditions for the promotion of the peaceful settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. Armenia’s FM noted that Baku takes all the possible measures to undermine the peace process. Opposing the constant calls of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairing countries and the international community on strictly adhering to the ceasefire, Azerbaijan continues grossly violating the trilateral open-ended ceasefire agreements.
Edward Nalbandian underscored that Armenia has regularly called on the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs to make addressed statements, pointing out the side responsible for ceasefire breaches.
“Rejecting the introduction of investigation mechanisms, Azerbaijan seeks to get away with the constant ceasefire violations it makes. However the non-standard statement issued by the [OSCE Minsk Group} Co-Chairs on May 18 clearly points out the side bearing responsibility,” Armenia’s Foreign Minister highlighted.
