Iran’s presidential elections: 20 million citizens cast ballots as of late afternoon
The voter turnout in Iran’s presidential elections on Friday is apparently going to hit a record high as Iranian authorities say some 20 million voters have cast their ballots by late afternoon, Tasnim Iranian news agency reports.
A total of 57 million eligible voters in Iran chose between incumbent President Hassan Rouhani and conservative candidate Ebrahim Raisi.
Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei called on the Iranian citizens to actively take part in the elections and determine the county’s fate.
