CEC calculated distribution of mandates in Yerevan City Council
Central Election Commission of Armenia (CEC) has convened an extraordinary session, summing up the final results of the Yerevan City Council elections held on May 14.
According to the CEC decision, the mandates in the 65-seat City Council were distributed in the following way. The ruling Republican Party gains 46 seats, “Elq” Bloc – 14, and “Yerkir Tsirani” (Land of Apricot) party - 5 seats.
According to the final results, summarized by the CEC the ruling Republican Party headed by acting mayor Taron Margaryan won 240,034 votes (71.25%). “Elq” Bloc headed by MP Nikol Pashinyan scored 70,730 votes (21%) and “Yerkir Tsirani” Party received 26,107 votes (7,75 %).
345, 158 citizens of the total number of eligible voters cast ballots at the elections.
