Aram Khachaturian bust to be unveiled at Khachaturian Concert Hall on composer’s birthday
On June 6, the inauguration of the bust of prominent Armenian composer Aram Khachaturian will be held at Aram Khachaturian Concert Hall. As Panorama.am was informed from the Ministry of Culture, Armen Sadghyan, an Armenian philanthropist living in Russia, has supported the creation of the bust. With the author’s and philanthropist’s joint decision, the bust was donated to the Armenian Ministry of Culture and was moved to Yerevan in January 2017.
The bust will be unveiled on the composer’s birthday, completing the series of the ceremonial events of the day. In the evening, all the participants of the event will take part in the opening ceremony of Aram Khachaturian International Competition to be held at Armenian National Academic Theatre of Opera and Ballet named after Alexander Spendiaryan.
The ministry reminds that a similar bust was donated to Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory on 2 February 2017, upon the author’s and philanthropist’s decision.
