Prime Minister: Artsakh resettlement remains a Pan-Armenian issue
All preconditions for Artsakh agriculture development are available as more investments are needed, Artsakh Prime Minister Arayik Harutyunyan told on Sunday to reporters visiting Artsakh.
“Irrigation in liberated territories requires billions in investment. We lack those resources and set to do the work step by step,” the PM explained, referring to the agriculture development concept of the Artsakh Republic. Harutyunyan, specifically pointed to the new project of gardening envisioned by the concept aimed at Artsakh economy development in the coming ten years.
Speaking of the Artsakh resettlement programme in the liberated lands, the PM said the government exert great efforts in that direction. “The Cabinet is doing even more than possible in connection with the resettlement programme. Resettlement is not a solely Artsakh but rather a security matter of Pan-Armenian significance. Large sums are needed per settling 1,000 people, as housing remains one of the major problems in the country,” Arayik Harutyunyan said, recalling the construction works underway in Ishkhanadzor and Mijnavan villages.
