Tensions at the border Artsakh-Azerbaijani border remain stable, Defense Minister, Commander of the Artsakh
(Nagorno Karabakh) Republic Defense Army lieutenant-general Levon Mnatsakanyan told reporters, adding the escalation has decreases to compare with the previous months, despite the occasional flare-up of escalation.
“If we compare to the situation after the April actions (April Four-Day War, 2016), tensions were reduced several times. We may state no more cases of subversive infiltrations are recorded that last times occurred in February. The shooting from different calibers weapons and ceasefire violation incidents have also reduced,” Mnatsakanyan said, adding several times less truce violation cases were recorded in 2017 to compare with the previous years.
The Commander of the Artsakh Defense Ministry added the Artsakh forces retaliated with targeted firing to suppress the enemy each time it broke the ceasefire to inflict even larger losses.
