16 people evacuated from bus stuck in Yerevan underpass as pouring rain hits capital
Yesterday, at around 21:12, Armenia’s Ministry of Emergency Situations received an alert according to which several vehicles have been stuck at a flooded underpass in front of Metropol Hotel located at Mashtots Avenue in Yerevan, Armenia due to the pouring rains. One rescue team of the ministry was dispatched to the scene.
As the press service of the ministry told Panorama.am, it was found out that several vehicles, including a Hyundai bus with 16 passengers aboard, were stuck in water.
The 16 passengers, as well as the vehicles were taken out to a safe place.
The ministry informs that similar incident occurred outside Versailles restaurant in capital city Yerevan. The rescuers took the vehicles out of the area.
To note, Yerevan was hit by heavy rains and hail yesterday, due to which many streets in the city became hardly passable amid the accumulated water.
