Yerevan - Zvartnots test bus route starts operating
The first bus en route from Yerevan Republic Square to Zvartnots Airport began operating at 10:00 a.m. on June 14. The first passengers aboard were journalists and the representatives of Ministry of Transport.
Deputy Minister of Transport, Communication and Information Technologies Aram Arsenyan noted that the bus route begins from Armenia’s Republic Square taking into account the large flow of tourists in the area.
“This is a test route. Studies will be carried out in this period, taking into account flight schedules, the passenger flow at different hours of the day, and changes will be made based on the results,” he noted.
As the Public Relations Department of the Ministry told Panorama.am, the bus reaches the airport within 20 minutes, stopping only near Indoor Market in Armenia’s Mashtots Avenue and in Central Bus Station area.
In accordance with the agreement reached with Zvartnots Airport, informative panels on the bus and microbus routes are to be installed in the airport territory.
The route will operate round the clock with the frequency of every hour.
