Vote of no confidence passed against two members of “Yerkir Tsirani” fraction
Three members of the “Yerkir Tsirani” opposition fraction of the Yerevan City Council have lodged a vote of no confidence against the two other members of the political force. As the fraction informed in a press statement, during an extraordinary session held on Sunday, the head of the fraction Zaruhi Postanjyan, fraction secretary Marina Khachatryan, and Sona Aghekyan passed a motion of no confidence in the other two members - Hayk Petrosyan and Mnatsakan Parakshevin. The meeting discussed also the matter of calling them back from the city Council permanent committees, the release added.
According to the source, grounds for the vote of no confidence were the actions of the fraction members that ran counter to the party ideology, programs and principals as well as the facts of subordinating public interests to their personal interests. The release contained no further details regarding the specific actions of the two.
To note, “Yerkir Tsirani” party got 5 seats in the 65-member Yerevan City Council in the May 14 municipal elections, that was won by the ruling Republican Party the in a landslide.
