Artsakh Republic is part of Europe, Armenian official says
“Armenia has been and remains faithful to its commitments based on the European Partnership and will continue actively participating in the initiatives aimed at boosting the European democracy,” Armen Ashotyan, Chairman of the Standing Committee on Foreign Relations of Armenia’s National assembly (NA) said at a meeting with Joris Poschet, the member of the Belgian Senate.
As the press service of the Parliament told Panorama.am, referring to the peaceful settlement process of Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, Mr. Ashotyan has stated that the gross violations of ceasefire being regularly implemented by the Azerbaijani armed forces on the frontline in any way damage the negotiating process and the atmosphere of trust in the region, which is fraught with unpredictable consequences.
In the context of Nagorno-Karabakh conflict settlement Armen Ashotyan has noted that Artsakh is a part of Europe, a state that realized the European democratic values, and its people have earned the right of possessing its own destiny.
