Cement production cuts down, plaster production increases in Armenia in Jan-April 2017
According to the data released by the National Statistical Service (NSS) of Armenia, the production volumes of certain types of building materials have cut down.
In particular, in January-April 2017 the cement production volumes cut down by 19.7 % in Armenia to compare with the same period of 2016. 62.7 tons of cement was produced in Armenia within the four months in this year to compare with 78.1 tons of cement produced in the same period of 2016.
According to the NSS, in the four months, the production of prefabricated reinforced concrete structures, gypsum mortar and aluminum and metal-plastic doors and windows reduced by 33%, 42.8%, 33% respectively.
In parallel to this, in January-April 2017, plaster production grew by 13.3%. The production of glass containers rose by 54.6%, tuff production – by 2.8% and lime production – by 25.6%.
