Hraparak Daily: Construction of church by Gagik Khachatryan and his sons completed
The course of the construction works of the church built by Gagik Khachatryan in Armenia’s Yeghvard town is completed, however the church has not opened yet. The church named St. Sargis, constructed for many years with the support of former Chairman of the State Revenue Committee of Armenia Gagik Khachatryan and his sons – Artyom and Gurgen Khachatryans – was scheduled to be inaugurated last Sunday. However, the church opening has not taken place yet, with the exact date remaining unknown.
An employee from Yeghvard City Hall told Hraparak Daily that they do not know when the church will open. “The construction works are over. A little improvement works are still left, but it has nothing to do with the church opening. We do not know the exact date of its opening.”
The newspaper noted that the groundbreaking ceremony of the St. Sargis Church took place in 2012 attended by Primates of Kotayk and Ararat Dioceses. The church is located on the western outskirts of the town next to a leftover reservoir. The architect of the building is Hrachya Galstyan.
