Tourism development fund to be set up in Armenia
The Armenian Government has adopted a decision to set up a tourism development fund to ensure a more efficient state marketing policy in the tourism sector.
Setting up a new fund will also solve the issue of attracting funds needed for boosting the cooperation with the international organizations and implementing targeted programs.
Under the Armenian Government’s action plan, it is planned to reach the number of tourist arrivals to Armenia to 3 million annually within the next 5 years, thus ensuring annual revenues totalling to at least $3 billion from the inbound tourism.
Establishing a specialized structure in the tourism field will ensure a more efficient marketing and promotion for Armenia and its tourism on the global, regional and domestic markets. The fund will also help to achieve more competitive results and reach the goals set under the Government’s action plan.
