Armenia’s State Revenue Committee thwarts number of customs violation attempts
In January-May of the current year, the Pre-Clearance Control Department of Armenia’s State Revenue Committee (SRC) has uncovered 80 cases of customs rules violations, 19 of which referred to cargo transportation from the EAEU countries.
As the press service of the committee told Panorama.am, 35 of the detected cases referred to narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances.
The SRC has also thwarted smuggling attempts of various products into Armenia, including gold and silver jewellery, cosmetics, mobile phones, building materials, medical equipment, agricultural products, and the others. Attempts of undeclared or particularly declared goods, as well as other customs violations attempts were also recorded.
The citizens have used various tricks to override customs control, giving preference to pre-made shelters. However all the attempts of customs offenses have been prevented.
