Armenia’s foreign ministry returns 304.8 million AMD worth of savings to state budget
The 2016 state budget execution of Armenia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) amounted to 97.9%, Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian said at the debates on the annual report of “2016 State Budget Execution” held on Friday.
In the minister’s words, 304.8 million AMD worth of savings was returned to the state budget.
Mr. Nalbandian noted that in the past year the ministry’s debt owed to the international organizations totalled to 2 billion 420 million 167 thousand AMD.
“We not only pay the yearly membership fees, but also pay off the debt accumulated during the previous years, starting back from 1998. Nine years ago the debt totalled to 9 million 200 thousand AMD. Currently it has cut down by around five times,” the minister said.
In the past year, the MFA received a total of 14.4 billion AMD from the state budget, implementing 19 programs with the financial resources.
