Index of ultraviolet rays predicted to reach 7 in Armenia on July 4
“It is for the first time that +30 °C degrees is recorded at 9:00 a.m.,” Gagik Surenyan, Head of Meteorological Center of Hydromet Service of Armenia's Ministry of Emergency Situations, noted on Facebook. Eerier he warned against heatwave in Armenia on 4-5 July, as the air temperature is expected to hit +39-40 °C.
As Armenia’s Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES) reports high temperature is predicted in territory of the Republic of Armenia on July 4 and 5. In the daytime up to 40 degrees above zero and a high risk of fire is predicted in the valleys. The air temperature will be 5-6 degrees higher than normal.
According to the source, on July 4 the index of ultraviolet rays is predicted to reach 7, thus it’s recommended to avoid direct sun exposure from 11:00 to 15:00.
On July 4-5 no precipitation is predicted. In the evening of July 6-8 in northern regions scattered showers with thunderstorms are predicted, in separate places hail is possible, the wind speed may exceed up to 18-23 m/s. Southwest wind speed is 3-8 m/s. On July 4-5, the air temperature will go up by 2-3, falling by 4-6 degrees on 6-8 July.
In capital city Yerevan, no precipitation is forecast for July 4-5. Scattered showers with thunderstorms are expected in the city in the evening of July 7-8, with the possibility of strong wind up to 17-20 m/s during thunderstorms.
