Cooperation prospects in agro-machinery production discussed with Iranian businessmen
Armenian Deputy Minister of Agriculture Robert Makarian received on Wednesday the delegation headed by the Vice President of the Agriculture Machinery Producers Association of Iran Hossein Rouzati to discuss the possible cooperation in agriculture sector of the two countries.
As the ministry said in a release, the Iranians noted they wished to get familiarized with agro-machinery and equipment used in Armenia, their capacity as well establish business ties with local manufacturers to facilitate the import of Iranian agricultural machinery and new the technologies.
The deputy minister suggested the guests to explore and assess their possible participation in the Armenian state program of the leasing of agricultural machinery and the establishment of the machine and tractor stations.
Makarian also pointed to the possibility of displaying samples of Iranian agricultural equipment at Armprodexpo specialized exhibition in Yerevan scheduled for October that would allow Armenian farmers to receive first-hand information about the Iranian products.
At the meeting the interlocutors discussed also the possibility of establishing a joint agricultural machinery center in Armenia.
